Alma Snider

Alma Green Snider passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the age of 85. She was the beloved wife for 59 years to the late Edwin D. Snider. She is survived by her loving children: Dwight Snider and Sheila Seawright (David); her grandchildren: Dwight Jr., Philip, Olivia, Trisha, Shane, and Amanda; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was the daughter of the late Leola Britt Green and Thomas Green and was one of eleven siblings: Ruth, Nita, Sidney, Melba, Nell, Lita and the late Beverly, William, Danny, and Bobby. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Alma was a native of Franklin, LA and a longtime resident of Metairie, LA. She retired from Sears Credit department after 30 years of employment. Alma was an active member of the Daughters of the Nile and the Eastern Star. The family would like to give special thanks to Barbara Snider who cared for Alma in the last days of her life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service officiated by Alma's nephew, Dr. Robert "Bob" Herron Jr., at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until service time. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
