Alvera Harris

Alvera Harris passed away March 23rd 2023 in Jamaica New York peacefully and in God's memory. She was 83 years old. Alvera was born in New Orleans to August Harris and Martha Sumler Harris (deceased). At an early age she joined the Air Force and moved to New York where she became a bank teller for citibank. Also she was employed by the New York City school system and was an active gym member. She leaves to cherish her only surviving aunt Dorthy Sumler, Charles James Harris Sr and Annie Harris, Arnold Harris Sr of San Antonio,TX, Carl Harris Sr, Mary Ann Williams of Shreveport, LA, Pearl Buckley, and Aline Harris. She's also survived by many nieces,nephews and loving relatives. She is preceded in death by both parents, August Harris Sr, Henry Ladden of Cincinnati Ohio, Gill Harris, & Lester Harris Sr. The services will be held at the Southeast Louisiana (Military Cemetery) 34888 College Drive Slidell, Louisiana 70460 Wednesday May 10th at 12:30 p.m.
