I am so sorry for your loss. Al was sucha wonderful man but I don't have to tell you that. Wherever he was there was laughter! He spent many hours visiting all of us at the Oyster Bar at the Monteleone Hotel. He would make his rounds and spread the joy throughout the hotel! My prayers are with you and your family as God has another angel making the rounds and telling jokes and stories. He will be missed. All the best

Allie and I were supposed to have a hot date tonight with uncle Al and Shannon and Lucy for the MLB All Star Game, renewing an old tradition from our college days (well, Shannon and my college days lol). So sad Alvin Pritchett couldn't stay with us just another week, you'll never know how excited i was to have this date with you and the girls tonight, and how saddened i am that we won't get to now. I was so looking forward to it. Shannon and the girls and i will renew the tradition in your honor next year and will continue for at least 10 more years, when mine and Shannon's friendship contract expires, and we will make sure the girls know of how it all came to be - except the following baseball players to Bruno's, drinking beer, and smoking cigarettes, and all that- well i guess that is kinda the story of how it all came to be :) You know I've always loved you like family and i know your namesake Allie would've grown to love you just the same. We will miss you and you'll be forever in our hearts uncle Al. ROLL WAVE ROLL!
LOVE ALWAYS,
Manda, Allie, and the Purple Guy

When Shannon and I first hung out we were about 15, and it was around Christmas. I pointed to some Christmas lights and said "Look at the Lights" and Big Al immediately laughed and started joking with me. He will always be remembered.
