Alvin Shepherd Sr.

SHEPHERD Alvin Shepherd, Sr. on Saturday, March 3, 2012, was laid to rest in order to await the second resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was the son of the late Loretta and Victor Shepherd, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn W. Shepherd. Father of LaJeanne S. Joseph, Lynda S. Jones (Greg) and Alvin Shepherd, Jr. Grandfather of Kirk and Ja'Lissa Joseph, Johnathan, Ja'Nae and Brandon Shepherd. Godfather of Nadja Thompson Fisher (Donald Ray), Brother of the late Alberta Lewis, Lucille Thompson, Loretta Shepherd, Albert Shepherd, Eli Shepherd, Victor Shepherd, Jr., Robert Shepherd and Cubie Shepherd. He is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted long time friend, Loretta Ellis. Relatives and Friends of the family, as well as employees of RTA/NOPSI, Touro Infirmary Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospice, Serenity Hospice, DEW Enterprises (Baton Rouge, LA), J.C. Penney (College Station, TX), Rios Trucking (College Station, TX), Healthcare Office Solutions (Madison, AL) and faculty, staff and students of Oakwood University (Huntsville, AL), Blinn Community College (College Station, TX) and McKinley Middle School (Baton Rouge, LA), pastors, officers and members of Oakwood University Church (Huntsville, AL), Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church, Three Angels Seventh Day Adventist Church (College Station, TX), Berean Seventh Day Adventist Church (Baton Rouge, LA) and St. John Baptist Church are invited to attend the Funeral Services at St. John Baptist Church, 8540 Panola St. on Monday, March 12, 2012. Church visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until services begin at 12:00 noon. Rev. Donald P. Boutte, host pastor and Pastor T. Ron Weegar officiating. Entombment: Mount Olivet Cemetery.
