On April 24th, 2015 I was about to get rolled in to surgery to have my port inserted when a short curled hair brunette nurse popped her head in. That is the day I met Amanda Inbau Arthur. She heard that I was in pre ops and that I was scared following my recent diagnosis. Ironically enough Amanda and I both had Triple Negative Breast cancer. She calmed my mom and I down, advised my mom of things to expect in the months ahead and scribbled down her phone number to call her after surgery. We have talked almost everyday since. She answered my calls and texts at all hours of the night. She was the first person I called as I was wheeled in to the emergency room (twice) during treatment and when I accidently ingested my dog's seizure medicine in the middle of the night. We did not laugh that night but boy did we laugh about it once I got the all clear that the dog medicine would not harm me. Unfortunately Amanda had a recurrence only a few months after we met, and I only hope I was able to support her as she did for me. Amanda came into my life when I needed her the most. I was at Ochsner for surgery, getting my chemo port put in. I was scared and sobbing, until Amanda walked into my room. I was immediately comforted by her positive attitude and smile. We kept in touch after that surgery, but I find myself wishing for more. I will never forget you and the impact you had on my cancer journey as long as I live, Amanda. I am truly blessed to have known you.

Amanda was ,by far, DOSC's Ultimate Party Planner!!! She was always so well prepared and thoughtful when coordinating, planning, and hosting most of our get togethers. I wish I would have taken some lessons!!!!! She helped me out in so many ways during a rough patch of my life, even as far as letting me come "shop" through Taylor's hand me downs!!!! I called her "my goober" because she always had to do everything by the book, she always followed the rules, and she LOVED the Annual Nursing Skills Fair. I will never forget her and feel so lucky to have been able to call her my friend!!!

Mr. Don and Miss Patsy, I'm heartbroken and still in disbelief over losing Amanda. I feel privileged that I had her as a friend since childhood. She was a warm, loving, positive, and supportive friend. I will so miss our visits we had when I traveled back to New Orleans. We could always pick up right where we left off. I will forever cherish those times I had with her.

I remember calling Amanda one time all excited to try this new shade of lipstick I saw in the catalog. I gave her the name and number, she kept saying that she didn't see it. Come to find out, I had the wrong catalog. I was looking at Avon instead of Mary Kay. We laughed until we cried and she never let me forget about it. Love that girl!!

My memories of Amanda are all happy, fun, and memorable times. Our game nights after the boys' baseball games, the happy hours at the club, the parties for school, and our texts over school and the boys - Amanda filled my life with happiness and joy. She had a contagious smile and was always helping others, offering to do things for others or was giving advice. What a remarkable lady! She left a mark that is inspiring. Love you, my friend. Mandy was just 3 years old when we moved across the street from her. Over the years we watched her grow into a beautiful young woman. She had the sweetest personality and the most radiant smile. I sure am going to miss talking about how our kids will one day get married. I will also miss looking at all of Amanda's pics on her cell phone from whatever fun event she went to over the weekend. I knew Amanda from our St Ann days although I was a few years older. Our paths would cross over the years through mutual friends and I always enjoyed catching up with her. She was always so sweet and fun to talk to. She has obviously made a lasting impact on many people's lives based on the outpouring of love for her. There are no words to fully describe the joy Amanda brought to so many. Her beautiful radiant smile, kind words (no matter how long passed between talks), bubbly excitement, shared passions, and everything else that we loved so much about her will be missed. One of my favorite memories of Amanda was seeing her and Patsy at the Helen Brett Jewelry Show. She was a glowing, beautiful young pregnant lady. I loved watching her smiling face whenever she talked about her baby, and she couldn't wait to start her nursery. Her smile will always be remembered. My prayers have

Words always sound trite at times like these, but I know that I (and everyone else in the Esker family) is deeply saddened by the Inbau families loss and wish to express our condolences. I hadn't seen Amanda since childhood, but I remember her as kind and friendly and it sounds like she remained that way through the rest of her life.
