Amita Parikh Obituary

PARIKH Amita Master Parikh passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2011. Beloved wife of Dr. Arvidkumar Parikh. Mother of Linken (wife Mary Ford) and Chinten Parikh. Also survived by two grandchildren: Ryan (11 years) and Riley (7 years). She was 77 years of age and suffered from Alzheimer's disease. She was a resident of Chateau Living Center (skilled nursing facility) for the last 18 months. She was born in Bombay, India and moved to New Orleans, LA in 1960. She came with a Master's degree and obtained a diploma in Computer Programming at Delgado Community College. She worked at City Hall for four years and retired after working for the Federal Government as a Computer Programmer Analyst for 10 years. She resided in New Orleans East for about 40 years until she moved to Kenner, LA in 2000. There will be no cremation or funeral as her body has been donated to medical science for research and training. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service to be held on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Country Inn & Suites, 1501 Veterans Blvd, Kenner, LA.
