Andrew Jackson Sr. Obituary

Andrew Dewitt Jackson, Sr. entered eternal rest at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at the age of 92. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Andrew was a retired brick mason. Beloved husband of the late Magnolia Jackson. Loving father of Andrew Jackson, Roberta Harris, Debra Lewis, Phillip Jackson, Rickey Jackson, Dorothy Walters, Cynthia Hamilton, James Smith, Hugh Knox, and Lionel L. Monroe. Son of the late Herbert Jackson, Sr. and Beatrice Jackson. Brother of the late Herbert Jackson, Jr., Joseph "Buck" Jackson, George Freeman, Ruth Jackson, and Annae Brown, also survived by 30 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until service time at the parlor.
