Andrew Sharp Obituary

SHARP Andrew E. Sharp, Jr., a resident of Walker, LA, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2010. Born March 17, 1938 and raised in New Orleans, LA. He was a pre-Katrina resident of Slidell and Pearl River, Louisiana. He was the husband of Judith Gibney Sharp and the late Elaine Partlan Sharp. He was the son of the late Andrew E. Sharp and Vivian A. Sharp of New Orleans. He is survived by his wife Judith Gibney Sharp; his sister Valerie Ann (Sharp) Johnson and her husband Joseph Russell Johnson, Sr. of Opelousas, LA; his sons Wayne R. "Rick" Sharp of Slidell and Dennis M. and wife Joan Sharp of Gretna; and a daughter Nora Anne (Sharp) Mills of Pearl River. He is also survived by Charles "Chuck" McGoldrick and wife Pam of Slidell, LA and Marie Gibney of Phoenix, Arizona. He is survived by his grandchildren James Christopher and Michael Ray Alt, Natalie Anne Sharp Mills, Renee Marie (Sharp) Yesso and her husband Justin Yesso, Rachel Lee Sharp and great-grandchildren Gabriel Alexander and Matthew Patrick Sharp, Christopher Andrew and Ashley Elizabeth Sharp, and Ryan O'Shawnessy and Hunter Trey McGoldrick. Mr. Sharp graduated from St. Francis of Assisi School, New Orleans in 1952, De la Salle High School, New Orleans in 1956 and LSU in 1960. He was a 36 year employee of the Civil Engineering Department of Texaco Inc. in New Orleans retiring in 1996. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm and on Wednesday morning from 9:00am until 11:00am. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00am. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Amedisys Hospice Services of Baton Rouge, LA or St. Francis Episcopal Church in Denham Springs, LA. Arrangements by Honaker Funeral Home, Inc., Slidell, LA.
