Angela Copping Obituary

Angela "Angie" Maitrejean Copping, age 62, loving mother of Christopher Copping and adoring wife to husband Craig Copping, was called home in the early hours of July 8, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 3, 1961, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Wallace and Eleanor Maitrejean (deceased) and grew up in St. Bernard Parish in Cypress Gardens with her siblings Mark, Eleanora "Nora" Pitre, Susan "Susie" Kotteman, and Elizabeth "Liz" Blancher. Angie, from a very young age, displayed charisma and determination. She was destined to be a leader. After graduating from Andrew Jackson High School in 1979, Angie began her career with LP&L/NOPSI/Entergy and retired after 33 years of committed service. All while obtaining a successful career; Angie's first priority was the commitment that she made to the care of her special needs son and love of her life, Christopher Copping. Angie's life truly reflected that which is deemed Christ Centered as she chose to be a true love message to the world. She will always be remembered as a part of the very fabric of our lives. She was a mentor and a leader in her church. She always prayed for her friends and family. Angie was always available for a lively discussion with her own distinct comments. She had a deep love for and dependence on Jesus and a sharp command of the Scriptures that was inviting. She was a strong, godly woman whose time was filled with acts of great generosity, and kindness as she humbly served a world in need. Angie also voluntarily managed First Baptist food pantry and thrift store, sang in the choir, and was a chairwoman on the board. Please join us as we honor and Celebrate a Life Well Lived. For those of us that she leaves behind, there is no doubt that as she entered into the arms of our heavenly father she heard those words, "Well done, good and faithful servant." One day we will join her and spend all of eternity worshiping the Lord together. "Because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence" (2 Corinthians 4:14). Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, July 14, 2023, at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue Street, in Chalmette, from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., with a funeral service in Angie's memory at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Autism Society in Angie's name at https://autismsociety.org/ways-to-give/.

To Craig and Family,

I'm deeply sorry to hear of the loss of Angie. May God comfort you all during your time of bereavement. I was scanning the obits and I am so shocked to have run across Angie's obituary. My Lord, comfort this beautiful family in their time of need. Angie was such a beautiful, sweet, and humble person and was one of my dearest friends at LP&L. I'll never forget that she arranged a lunch gathering for me with other co-workers when I came in town....she was such a caring person with a beautiful spirit. And she truly had such a deep love for her family...Christopher was her heart, no doubt. I am so glad I had the pleasure of working with her and hanging out with her on a few occasions during our time at LP&L on Delaronde St in Algiers. Rest in Peace my friend. You will be missed by many that worked with you and knew you. Again, Craig, my sincere condolences to you and your family. May God strengthen you all during this time. Be strong in the Lord.
