I first met Anita when she came to Oakland as a traveling nurse. I was the charge nurse at the time. There was something special about her. Sharp, beautiful, strong woman she was. Ambitious. A great nurse. And that adorable New Orleans accent... She worked with us for quite some time. I was so sad to hear what happened to her. A terrible loss. She remains in my thoughts with fondness and admiration. My condolences to her family and friends.

My prayers go out to the Scott family. Anita and I attended nursing school together at Dillard University. She had a great sense of humor and was a vibrant person. I am at a loss for words, as an exceptional person has parted this earth way too soon. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4)

I'm very saddened to hear of the loss of my friend, colleague, travel buddy. We started at CHNO together in Med-Surg, branched off to ER and ICU & became travel nurses. I am forever grateful for your presence in my life, you were always that true inspiration, esp on the road, "let's go maw" or "come on chic". Never a dull moment, so full of life. My heart is heavy, you will truly be missed. Condolences to the family.
Nita, my Angel, Heaven awaits you, take your rest.....chic

I had the pleasure of working with Anita for several years in Oakland, CA. She was an exceptional nurse to her patients. She had spunk, was a wonderful advocate for her patients, and she didn't let anybody get away with any foolishness, unless we could all have fun from it. She always had a smile, and could find humor in the craziest of situations - a true NURSE. I'm praying for her family and close friends during this most difficult time. Thank you for letting her spread her wings out to the West Coast. We reaped the blessings. RIP, Anita.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. May God watch over your family during your time of bereavement. Anita and I went to George Washington Elementary School together. She was always very quiet and would crack a smile every so often. She and I ran into each other while she was working at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston. She is going to be missed. God has given another angel her wings. Rest in Peace Anita.

As around the sun the earth knows she's revolving and the rosebuds know to bloom in early May. Just as hate knows loves the cure; you can rest your mind assured, that we will miss you always. Anita was a beautiful light. So kind, generous, passionate, and energetic. I was fortunate enough to vacation with her on a girl's trip and it is a memory I will cherish forever. May God continue to comfort your family and my sincerest condolences.

I am so saddened to hear about Anita. My deepest and sincerest condolences to the family. Anita and I had lots of great memories together. We met while in Nursing school at Dillard University and became fast friends. For three years, we would ride to school together offen, study together, and hang out. We went on to graduate from Dillard in 1997 and while I didn't talk to Anita much in recent years, I never forgot her. Anita was full of fun. She was a loving and kind soul. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
