Anna Rita Persich

PERSICH Anna Rita Persich, retired professor and chairman of the department of Medical Technology of Loyola University of the South, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the age of 86. Ms Persich received a Master's Degree in Microbiology from L.S.U. Medical Center. She was a fellow in Alpha Mu Fraternity of Medical Technology (Honor Society), a member of Who's Who of American Women, received the Order of St. Louis Medallion of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, awarded Medical Technologist of the year from the Louisiana State Society, and received the outstanding achievement award from the National Society for scientific publications. She was a World War II Navy Veteran, served as a wave from 1943 - 1946. Ms. Persich was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Gladys Fricken Persich, two brothers, Rev. Nicholas E. Persich, C.M. and Rev. Harold (Hotsy) Persich, C.M. and is survived by two brothers, Rev. Roy Persich, C.M., and J. Donald Persich, M.D.; sister-in-law, Claire Nicholson Persich; nieces and nephews, Dr. Nicholas J. Persich and his wife Charlene, Donna Giroir, Dr. Gregory Persich and his wife Kelly, Margaret Fox, David Persich and his wife Lori, and Laura Persich; seven grand nieces and seven grand nephews. Relatives and friends of the family, also Daughters of Charity, Vincentian Fathers, parishioners of St. Joseph's Church and St. Louis King of France Church, members of Ladies of Charity of Archdiocese of New Orleans, Catholic Daughters of America (Court Mater Dei) are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, 1802 Tulane Avenue on Monday, December 31, 2007 at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will be at St. Joseph's church from 9:00 A.M. until Mass begins. Interment will be in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph's church, 1802 Tulane Avenue, New Orleans, LA or Canon Hospice, 1221 S. Clearview Pkwy, Jefferson, LA 70121, preferred.
