Anne Gaudin Obituary

Anne Elizabeth Tetlow Gaudin passed away on October 23, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Betsy, as she was known to most, was born on January 23, 1932, in New Orleans to Joseph Allen Tetlow and Mercedes Mullen Tetlow. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes elementary school, St. Mary's Dominican High School, and graduated from Loyola University with a degree in medical technology. Betsy was married in 1954 to her college sweetheart, Felix August Gaudin, and the couple had three daughters. She taught in several New Orleans public schools, ending her career at Lafayette School. Her life after retirement was filled with travel with her husband and being a devoted grandmother to her four cherished grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her three brothers, Charles Tetlow, Mulry Tetlow, and John Tetlow. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Gaudin, Susan Gaudin Young (Christopher) of New Orleans, and Patrice Gaudin Becker (Gerard) of Chesapeake VA, and by her four grandchildren, Colin Young (Diana) of Houston TX, Mary Caitlin Young of New Orleans, Mary Elizabeth Becker of Alexandria, VA., and Christian Becker (Niquela) of Fallon, NV, and by her two great-grandchildren, Felix and Keira Becker. Betsy is also survived by her brother Reverand Joseph Allen Tetlow, S.J., and her sisters-in-law Toby Reynaud, Elisabeth Tetlow, and Nina Tetlow, and by numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend thanks and love to Anne's hospice caretakers, Catherine Duronslet and Montrell Williams, who made her last year comfortable. At Anne's request, there will be no service.
