I'm greatly saddened by the death of my former student, Anthony Allen. He was one of my all time favorites; indeed, he was one of my "academic sons." I not only served as his academic advisor, but we would have extended conversations about the Lower 9, sports, and current political and civic events. My sister, Mrs. Leona C. Pitts, also taught him and always spoke about him as a model student.

Leona, along with my wife, Inez, and I, extend our sincerest sympathies and condolences to his family, friends, neighbors and associates.

Rest well, my neighbor and friend. It was a pleasure to have known Anthony. I truly appreciate all he did in helping my children the many times I had to be rushed to the hospital. I will definitely miss our friendly Cowboys - Saints rivalry.
