Anthony James Underwood

Anthony "Tony" James Underwood passed away, at the age of 32, on Friday July 9, 2021 in Marrero, LA. Beloved son of James Underwood (Teresa) and Constance Palmer (Robert). Father of Lilliann Lane Underwood (Brittney Gervais) and Anthony James Lapeyrouse (Erika Lapeyrouse). Grandson of Ben Underwood (Nancy), David Pearson (Frances) , Loetitia "Tish" Navarre, Cynthia Peacock, Joyce Davis, Gerald Palmer (Sue). Brother of LaTrisha Smith (Matthew), Veronica Underwood (Randal Kingery), Michael Lambert (Callie), Connor Palmer (Courtney), Kyla Palmer (William Jordan), Tiffany Vassuer (Terry), Brittany Barberree (Jeremy), Rayne Palmer (Angel Johnson), Summer Caldera (David). Godchild of Bonnie and Danny Gros with their son Chris Matherne (Kerri). Nephew of Tammy Vancil (Kyle), Tammie Barnes (Brant), Paula Guillot (Robert). Tony is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that all loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Troy Slayter, Donald Peacock and Jim Davis; grandmother, Shirley Pearson; great-grandmothers, Mary Roy and Elouise Slayter and uncle, Stephen Peacock. Tony was born on the Westbank, where he lived before moving to Houston, Texas and later to Hartford, AL where he attended Geneva County High School. He eventually moved back to his roots in Lafitte, LA where he attended Fisher High School. He was big hearted and always the life of the party. With his goofy antics, Tony was always making sure no one was without a smile. He left this world too soon and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Forever in our hearts. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, Louisiana on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana.
