Anthony James "Tony" Waring

Anthony James Waring, 60. Former New Orleans resident Anthony (Tony) James Waring, 60, died peacefully on Jan. 22, 2021, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, AL. At his request, a celebration will be held (TBD) in lieu of a memorial service. Tony was born April. 7, 1960, in Charleston, SC., to Major Robert G. Waring (USAF Retired) and Jane M. Waring (Adams). Tony had a love for life that few could match and during his life, made many, many friends that will miss him greatly. His other loves included golf, the New Orleans Saints, Jazz Fest and, his ever-faithful dog Oliver. Early in his career, Tony served in the United States Coast Guard as an electricians mate and after his service, became a professional golfer working at numerous golf courses in the New Orleans area. Later in life, he settled in Santa Rosa Beach FL, where he became a valued member of the staff at Stinky's Fish Camp. Most recently, Tony spent time with his sister on their family farm enjoying the excitement of raising cattle and peaceful country living. He is survived by his two children Eric Waring and Sydney Waring, his granddaughter Genevieve, the mother of his children, Coleen Waring Fraiche, his two sisters Suzanne Hoffpauir (Bill Hoffpauir) and Elizabeth Hughes (Bert Hughes), his two brothers, Stephen Waring (Carmen Waring) and Michael Waring (Mary Waring), and numerous nieces and nephews.
