Arthur John "Baby Red" Mason Jr.

1949 - 2018

Arthur John Mason Jr. aka "Baby Red" was born February 6, 1949, to the late Arthur & Lillian Mason Sr. He received his wings on Tuesday April 24, 2018. As a child he lived on Metropolitan Street, attended Helen S. Edwards Elementary School and graduated from George Washington Carver Sr. High School in 1967. He was employed by Good Year Tire Service, National Linen Service and Southern Scrap. He was the loving brother of Brenda Mason Jacob, Rev. Russell Mason Sr., Sandra Mason Johnson, Donald Anderson Sr., Helen Porter and LaBertha Cooper. His sister in laws Geraldine Mason. Left to mourn are his children: Arthur John Mason III, Monique Mason Rhodes, Quana Mason, Juan Mason Sr. (Shuntia), and Wilfred Stevens Sr. (Beverly). Grandfather of: Aireal Hobbs, Artrevia Curtis, De'Jasia, Aleia Hobbs, Arthur Mason IV, Mya Mason, James Mason Rhodes, Merander Mason, Juan Mason Jr., Ronaiya Beatty, Wilfred Jr., Kayla and KeDen Stevens. Great grandfather of Kennedy Hobbs and Amari Curtis. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Je'Taime Stevens, brother Glenn Mason Sr., sister-in-law Judy Mason and brother- in-law Lucien Jacobs. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 1:30 pm at Majestic Mortuary 1833 Oretha C. Haley Blvd. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm. Burial will be private.
