To Ms. Daphne & Ms. June:
I didn't know your father, but it is my understanding that Rev. Piper & the late Rev. Maxie H. Boseman (My Great-Grandfather) was very close to one another during their tenure at St. John Institutional Baptist Church and The Freedman Association, were my family grew up.
The Boseman family appreciates the comfort & kindness your family extended to us during our time of loss and we extend the same comfort & courtesy to you & the entire Piper Family.
We pray God's blessings for comfort & strength to you and to help you to continue to keep Rev. Piper's legacy alive and strong.
Rev. Boseman & Rev. Piper are together again, but instead of serving the Lord, they can now relax with our Savior.
Peace be with you all,
Eujon S. Hughes (Boseman Family)!

Memories of a Great Man of God
He was so very, very special
And was so from the start
You held him in your arms
But mainly in your heart
And like a single drop of rain
That on still waters fall,
His life did ripples make
And touched the lives of all.
He's gone to be with God
In heaven up above
So,keep your special memories
And treasure them with love
Although your Great Husband,
Pastor, father, and mentor
Was with you just a while
He'll live on in your heart
With a sweet remembered smile
Sis. Piper, and the New Hope Baptist Church. Pastor Piper..crying at our wedding!!

What I remember the most about Pastor Piper is his phenomenal way of teaching the Word, where it was understood and enjoyable. The sermon that sticks out to me the most was titled, "the handwriting on the wall". I remember still today how moved I was by that sermon. Pastor Piper blessed and christened my first born, Patrick. He married my hubby and I and gave us our first and much needed spiritual counseling as a couple entering into marital bliss. We still laugh at the things he shared with us. The night of our wedding rehearsal I sang, "I will always love you", the song I sang to my fiance on our wedding day. Pastor Piper told the bridal party whoever cried first at the wedding would have to buy him lunch not knowing that he would be paying for his own lunch. The picture is Pastor Piper doing all the crying and gaining his composure...a memory that we will never forgot. The entire church laughed profusely!! RIP Pastor you've earned your wings.
My family sends peace and healing to you Sister Piper, Kids and the entire Family.

Sis. Beulah Piper & Family:
We were sorry to hear of the passing of Pastor Piper. We were not able to be with you to share in your time of bereavement. We know that your hearts are heavy now but remember that weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning. Westside and Freedmen Assn's have lost an active member. God saw his pain and called Pastor Piper home to be with Him. He is singing, praying and glorifying God. May your memories comfort you at this time and know that you will see him again in Glory.

Dr. Arthur Piper, Jr! Yes sir! In the words of the Late Dr. Morris Burrell-"A great tree has fallen." That name has rung in my ears since being a child. And having grown up and being able to share a many podiums and conferences with him as a fellow Pastor of the Great State of Louisiana before relocating to Springfield, IL, has made me a better preacher. Blessings and favor on the entire Piper family.

Sis. Piper:
Words can't express how we felt when we heard of the passing of Rev. Piper. I can remember when he was employed by D. H. Holmes. In Job 19:25-27 it says: I know that my Savior lives and at the end he will stand on this earth. My flesh may be destroyed, yet from this body I will see God. Yes, I will see him for myself and I long for that moment.
My mother and I are praying for you and your family doing this celebration of the home going of a great Minister, Teacher, Husband and Friend.

Sis. Piper, family and friends please remember that earth has no sorrowe that heaven cannot heal. In 1 Tessalonians 4:16 Paul says For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangle, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. God bless you all.

Dear Mrs. Beulah & Family,
I’m There For You
When you were born, I was there for you.
When you started walking and wanted someone to guide and hold your hand, I was there for you.
When you started school and was afraid, I was there too.
When you grew up and went to your first dance, I was there.
When you went to your first prom, I was there.
When you grew up and realized that the only true friend you had, had left you, I was there.
When you finally accepted me into your life, that’s when you knew I was there for you all the time.
God will never leave you nor will he forsake you when you need him most. May God forever comfort you and your family at this time.

When we lose someone we love, it seems that time stands still.
What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy on the passing of your husband.
