Lots of love and prayers to Ashley and her family during this time. I didn't know Ashley well, but got to hear about her a bit when I was Aidan's teacher in high school. He reflected so thoughtfully and lovingly about her faith journey and her struggle with cancer. Blessings to all of you in the journey ahead.

Reading and hearing about Ashley's journey over the past two years has brought me to uncontrollable sobbing several times. Hers is a spirit so strong and memorable. It is hard to think of her without seeing her smile and hearing her laugh in my mind's eye. I just could not fathom the carefree joy of those images with the tragedy of losing her among us here on Earth, and every time I read her Caring Bridge posts, her love for Daniel and Aidan would just burn through the virtual pages. Her wit, authenticity, honest vulnerability and courage had me laughing and crying simultaneously, and always, always, always wishing that I could just wrap my arms around her and hug her tight. Rest in peace, my dear Ashley. Your absence here will be such a loss for our world, but I know that you will be second lining with us in Heaven, my friend. You could never miss a party. So much love and gratitude for you.

I didn’t know Ashley, but what I do know is the enormous impact she had on those she loved and who loved her. My aunts, Marguerite and Amy, have told me countless stories about Wonder Woman herself, and from those stories I see the beautiful beam of light that Ashley was. I am so sorry for her loss. Sending lots of love to Ashley’s family and friends.
