Ashley Nicole Charles departed this life on Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at 9:35 P.M. Beloved daughter of Eddie and Lydia Lee Charles. Sister of Derrick Collins. Granddaughter of Arthur and Linda Lee, Johnnie Mae Charles, Richard Holmes and the late Edward Charles. Great granddaughter of Myrtle Poole and the Harold Poole, Sr. Niece of Arthur III, Patrice, and Broc Lee, Rashonda and Vernon Charles. Devoted friend of Katrina Stevenson. Also survived by 4 great uncles, 4 great aunts, the Colby Family of Kentucky, and a host of cousins other relatives and friends. Age 18 years a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Relatives and friends also pastors, officers, and members of Macedonia B.C., First African B.C., and all neighboring churches. Faculty and staff of L.W. Higgins High School, Employees of Mike Anderson Restaurant, Steak Escape, and Wal Mart Behrman Hwy are invited to attend the funeral services from Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Friday, August 30, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Albert Mickel - Officiating (NO WAKE). Visitation from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the above named parlor. Interment: Restlawn Cemetery, Avondale, LA. Arrangements by: DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE 230 MONROE ST., GRETNA, LA.

God is good all the time! Even in a situation like this, he is always good. Just keep your head up, and your faith in him and he will do the rest. I will keep your family in my prayers, and trust in God that everything will be alright.

I don't know if I knew your daughter or not, because I haven't seen a picture yet, but I graduated from Higgins in 1999. I hope all the words of encouragement you receive will lift your spirits and bring joy back into your lives.

I wish to express my condolence to the Charles Family. I did not know Ashley personally, but I remember her sweet disposition as she would take our orders at the Steak Escape in the Centre. I pray for comfort and healing for the entire family. God bless you all.

I remember Ashley as if it were yesterday. She was a great person with a winning smile. May God Smile on your family as you try to deal with this for the days to come.
