Mr. Gus, Please have my fish taco and beer waiting for me on that beach in Kauai please... I love you with all my heart and am so happy that you are at peace now. I met Uncle Gus (its what he insisted I call him) as a young wipper snapper in PCB, Fl. From the 1st day he treated me like family :-) I always admired his dedication to his country, his family, and his community.I'm a better man for having known him. RIP Uncle Gus.

I met Gus back when he was working in the Detective Bureau(JPSO), long before I went into Law Enforcement. Gus always was supportive to me and was an extremely kind man. He was truly one of the good guys and will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends.

Mrs. Marie,
I was very honored to work with Gus at JPSO. He was such a sweet, caring and compassionate man. But most of all he was GENUINE, and he truly cared about the people he worked with. I will never forget our talks about life and such. He always made you feel special. He will be missed by many. Heaven sure got a whole lot brighter!!!!! May God give you and your family the strength during this most difficult time!!!!

There are so many wonderful memories that I have of Gus
I loved his sweet personality and kindness. I loved the way he
Teased but made you feel special. I loved how he loved his friends and family. He just worried so much.
One of the most precious times I remember about him was when I bumped into him
running in the park one Saturday morning.
He stopped and shared his thoughts with me about the Lord. He said he prayed all the way
Around the track thanking and telling of his love for God and it made him feel so happy.
There is no doubt what so ever, that he is with his Jesus.
I thank God for having the opportunity of knowing him and my sweet friend, Marie.
Marie loves him and the Lord so much and gives all she has. What a wonderful example of a loving
Wife. I love you Marie and will keep you and Gus in my heart forever!

Heaven got a True Angel..
Mr. Gus was one of the most loving, caring, kind, and good hearted man I knew. I am thankful that I was able to be a part of his life. He was a wonderful grandfather to my son Christian aka "The Dude". Mr. Gus was a strong believer in the Catholic Faith, he taught me to Pray to St Joseph and St. Joseph will give you what you ask for in the way it was meant to be. I will forever love Mr. Gus for all he has done for me and my son. He will never be forgotten and will live on through his grandchildren because he loved them so much. He will always be their Guardian Angel.

We have so many fine memories of you and Mairie . Gus was always the finest of the finest . He loved his family and dedicated his life to making and giving a better life to all the citizens of Jefferson Parish . We always thought of Gus as a man of integrity and high morals and values . Not a bad word could be said of him . Always a pleasure to be around . Sorry we didn't get to spend more time with him in his latter years . But we still have our great memories of him.
