August Roussel Sr.

August Roussel, Sr. of Lucy Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 13, 2022, surrounded by family, at the age of 91. Devoted husband of Gloria Darensbourg Roussel. Loving father of Patsy Varnado, August Roussel Jr. (Varilyn), Debbie Berry, Norman Roussel Sr. (Vanessa), Myra Roussel, Barbara Leonard (Gregory), Doreen Mitchell (Brian), Anita Ashmore (Michael), Dennis Roussel (Laurie), and Brian Roussel (Anita). August worked for many years as a pipefitter before retiring from Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 60. August was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar, and Olivia Julian Roussel; three brothers, Whitney, Wilbert and Royal Roussel; two sisters, Augustine Roussel and Elenora Burrell; and one grandson, Norman Roussel Jr. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two brother's-in-law, three sisters in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, priests and parishioners of St, John the Baptist Catholic Church, also Members of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 60, Mayflower Benevolent Association, West St. John Volunteer Fire Department are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 10:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2361 Highway 18, Edgard, LA 70049. Visitation begins at 8:00 am until mass time. Recitation of the Rosary at 8:30 am. Father Robustiano Morgia, Celebrant. Entombment in the Church Mausoleum.
