Austin Burroughs Obituary

Austin Joseph Burroughs passed away on December 12, 2017. At 18 years of age the pain became too unbearable and Austin lost his long and courageous battle with depression. He was born on November 23, 1999 to parents Heather Burroughs Carlos and Daniel J. Schwab. Austin enjoyed his years spent with friends at Patrick F. Taylor Academy. He had a deep passion for computers and was an avid gamer. Austin also found immense joy in his rescue dog Archer. With his eclectic taste in music and great sense of humor Austin brought joy to so many. He will be forever loved and tremendously missed by all who knew him. Austin is survived by his parents: Heather B. Carlos and Daniel J. Schwab, siblings: Paris Carlos, Peyton Carlos, Angelo Carlos and Juliette Schwab, stepfather: Guillermo "Sharkie" Carlos, grandparents: Millard G. Burroughs Jr., Connie J. Burroughs, Karen E. Hebert and Frank A. Schwab, great grandparents: Whitman A. Hebert and Sylvia T. Hebert also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his great grandparents: Adele P. Burroughs, Karl J. Labit and Barbara D. Labit. Services for Austin will be held on Monday December 18, 2017 at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 11:30 and services start for 1:30, private burial to follow. In lieu of sending flowers the family has asked to please make a donation to: The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
