Barbara R. Vowell

Barbara R. Vowell, age 62 of McComb, MS, passed on Saturday, January 7, 2006 of complications from ovarian cancer. Born December 22, 1943. A native of New Orleans, LA and resident of McComb, MS. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by: mother, Katherine M. McKinney; father, Kirkland S. Rheams; stepfather, Woodrow (Mac) McKinney; brother-in-law, Donnie Vowell; and uncle, Joseph A. Ragusa. Wife of Hal T. Vowell, Sr., McComb, MS. Mother of Mark W. Peterson, Kenner, LA, Gwen Burges and Steve Burges, McComb, MS. Sister-in-law of Rena Vowell, Summit, MS. Grandmother of Katie Burges, Jeremy Peterson and Tiffany Peterson. Also survived by 3 devoted caregivers: Elaine Buitt, Melissa Montgomery and Rose Johnson. Visitation on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, McComb, MS.
