There are so many memories of an era gone by, elegant catered dinner parties at the home of my parents Theone and Alvin Halpern. Between private parties for intimate friends, to major holiday and life cycle events, the only caterer they would use was Ms Bertha. I can still smell all the amazing deliciousness coming from my parents kitchen over 50 years ago. What a loss New Orleans has to mourn. May her memory be a blessing to all who had the absolute privilege of having the epicurean treats she so lovingly turned out. She will be missed .

I love you and miss you Aunt Bertie. I’ll never forget the your hospitality, the food you fed me, and the gifts you gave me. You made me feel like your “special niece” from California.

So many wonderful memories, where should I start. Beginning with our father Ralph Rosenblat who was the only kosher butcher in New Orleans. He and Bertha had a special relationship both professionally and as a close family friend that began 50+ years ago. As well as all of our family functions (Bar Mitzvahs, Weddings, etc.) were catered by her. That’s how we came to meet Walter and Bunny. She was a great lady and a very special dear friend who will be much missed and always remembered. We loved her very much, and rejoice in the wonderful 91 year life she had.

To Karen, Walter, Belva and family, my family sends our prayers for strength and consolation. Mrs. Pichon was diligent, energetic, smart and creative in business and life. She inspired so many of us in the neighborhood and at events. I often think of her when preparing for company. She leaves us with a wealth of positive memories. May she rest well.

Robin and I and our boys want to express our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to Walter and Jeremy the entire Pichon family on the passing of Bertha.
She was truly an amazing woman, caterer and friend to the entire New Orleans Jewish community.
In fact, she not only catered my Bar Mitzvah but my son Matt's Bar Mitzvah as well.
We well know that she was loved by so many and will be dearly missed by all.
Fondly,
Bobby Finkelstein

Karen and Walter,
I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. Whenever I saw your mom she was always surprised and happy to see me. My last memories of her was at Gloria Marshall’s gym and spa; also at an affair she catered for international travelers on St Charles Ave in the 2000’s, always so happy and funny! With sincere sympathy,

Miss Bertie, there are not enough words to express the heaviness in my heart. You were a second mother to so many of us, your home always open to us. Good times spent over the years and I will cherish each and every one. To Karen and Walter my deepest condolences in the loss of your beautiful mother. May God receive her into the heavenly high I know Mr. "V" and Ms. "V" happy to see their friend again.
