Berthard Lotten Obituary

LOTTEN Berthard Lotten Sr., age 71, a native of Donaldsonville, LA for 27 years and resided in Avondale, LA for the past 44 years, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2006 of a massive stroke. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Shirley Lotten. He was a devoted father of seven sons: Berthard Lotten Jr. (Lisa), Anthony Lotten (Tracy), Dr. Rayfield Lotten (Nikki) , Darryl Lotten (Brandy), Terry Lotten, Bertrand Lotten and the late Ray Lotten; one foster daughter, Paula Simmons; five sisters: Mercedes Triche, Stella Taylor, Geraldine Lotten, Shirley Jackson and Walterine Gibson; three brothers: Lloyd Lotten, Huit Lotten and Raymond Lotten; one brother-in-law, Roger Southall; two sisters-in-law: Amelia Williams and Florence Jone; mother-in-law, Alberta Southall; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was the loving grandfather of ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Lotten Sr. and Louise Dubois Lotten; twso brothers: Herbert and Eugene Lotten; two sisters: Laura L. Graves and Louise Thomas; and one granddaughter, Lakeasha Lotten. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Progressive Church, Pastor Sterling Melancon - 437 Cohen Ave., Marrero, LA on Saturday, January 14, 2006. Visitation will precede the service. Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Interment Restlawn Cemetery, Avondale, LA. Gaskin Southall Gordon & Gordon Mortuary, New Orleans, LA is in charge of the arrangements.
