Betty Walker Rogers entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 02, 2018. Betty was a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the seventh of 8 children born to the union of the late Rev. Calvin Walker, Sr. and Velma Hogan Walker. Betty was educated in the New Orleans Public Schools and attended Delgado Community College. She was united in marriage to Philip Rogers III and to this union 4 daughters were born. Betty was a member of Pentecost Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Lionel Davis, Sr. Betty was a previous employee of Hotel Dieu Hospital and the Volunteers of America (VOA). She leaves to cherish her memories 5 devoted daughters, LaVonsell Rogers-Thaggard, Yolanda Rogers Thompson, Tosha Rogers, and Felicia Rogers of Fresno Texas; Veronica Rogers, 1 son Walter Rogers, She also leaves 15 grandchildren, 13 great grand children, 1 brother: Lionel Walker, 1 sister Jacqueline, a sister- in- law Mary Walker of Ennis TX, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and church members. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at 9:00 AM on Saturday, July 07, 2018 at Pentecost Baptist Church, 1510 Harrison Ave. Visitation will be held from 8:00 AM until 9:00 AM.
