Betty Jane Valene

VALENE Betty Jane Valene, a native of Minneapolis, MN, and resident of new Orleans since 2001, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2006 at 8:05 a.m. Age 87 years. Mother of her devoted son Murray Valene and the late Marjorie Valene. Sister of David Brown of Tusculoosa, AL. Grandmother of Kari Valene Dart of Seattle, WA, Kym Valene, of New Orleans, LA, Brandon Valene of Lewisburg, TN and Courtney Valene Low of Minneapolis, MN. Great-grandmother of Samantha and Jessie Dart and Ethan and Alexandra Low. Betty will always be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother and an ""Auntie Mame'' to all her nieces and nephews. Betty was also an accomplished writer of children's poetry, an avid bridge player and will be fondly remembered for her love of life and wonderful sense of humor. Special thanks to Woldenberg and Sunrise Assisted Living facilities, Special caretaker and friend Ella Bradstreet and family and health care nurses. In lieu of flowers donations to any mental health charity of choice are preferred.Services will be planned at a later date. Greenwood Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
