Blanche Marie Margaret Moreau Capritto passed away peacefully September 19, 2024 at home in Harahan, LA. She was 97 years young. She was vibrant personality and a fun-loving soul. She loved ballroom dancing, gardening and Mexican train. She was a wonderful wife and mother, who was always there when we needed her, offering support, wisdom and love. She was a devout Catholic who faithfully prayed the rosary. Born in New Orleans, LA June 12, 1927, daughter of the late Thelma Augrain and James G Moreau of New Orleans, she grew up in the Mid-City neighborhood. Graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, 1945 and University of New Orleans, Summa Cum Laude, 1986. Phi Eta Sigma, Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. She was a medical transcriptionist and worked at Veterans Hospital. Devoted wife of Philip Capritto for 22 years. Beloved mother of Nikole Dearborn (aka Blanche M. Lewis), Randall J Lewis, Bette Armentor, Roger Lewis (Christy) and Renee Lewis. Grandmother of Michelle Schuelke (Justin), Elizabeth Griffith (Michael), Matthew Lewis, and Margaret "Maggie" Lewis. Great-grandmother of Jackson and Oliva Schuelke, Hadley and McKenzie Griffith. She is survived by her sister Olga M Wegmann (John X Wegmann III) and predeceased by brother James J Moreau (Jewel) and sisters Yvonne, Marie, and Nona Moreau. Also step-children Joseph Capritto and Catherine Capritto Gotzkowsky. Cherished by nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, family and friends. God. We love you, miss you, and take comfort that you are at peace in heaven. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation Thursday 9/26/2024 from 7-9pm and Friday 9/27/2024 12pm-2pm, Mass 9/27/2024 at 2pm, L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd, Kenner LA.
