Bobby G. Duke Jr. obituary

Bobby Duke Obituary

DUKE Bobby G. Duke Jr.'s wonderfully big heart gave out June 11, 2011 at his home in Pearl River at the age of 54. Wonderful husband of over 35 years to Mary Duke, he is survived by his wife and his two sons, Cody and Bradley, and loved mother-in-law Elaine. Preceded in death by his parents Bobby G. Duke Sr. and Frances A. Duke, Bobby was the oldest son of eleven and is survived by Cynthia, Micheal, James, Peter, Dina, Holly, Angelica, Anna, John, Gigi, and his honorary brother Spiro. Bobby is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and many friends, especially Norbert & Pauline "BFF". Lover of all animals, Bobby and his wife opened Beautiful Beast Grooming in Slidell in 1980 and in 2005 relocated their business to Pearl River. The pillar of his family, Bobby was a great listener, gave advice to everyone in need, was a keeper of the peace and made sure everyone had what they needed. A remarkable stand up man and a father to all, he was a man of many hats and Bobby will be remembered for having the biggest heart, being a chef at all hours, his creativity in everything he did, being the greatest Santa, building, fixing and tackling any project to arise, his ability to hold a conversation with anyone about anything, and his knowledge on any topic under the sun. Bobby's terrific soul and astounding personality will be remembered by everyone he knew. A memorial will be set up at a later date. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Bobby's love for animals, it is requested that donations be made to an animal society of your choice.

My long lost friend from Mesquite Pee Wee football the Comanche Warriors. #44 our special running back that had 2 touchdowns in Waco that afternoon in the “Friendship Bowl”. I was saddened when you moved to Louisiana as I want to play ball with you all through high school. My mom talked about you her entire life. Rest well 44.

Me and the girls miss you so much. Our family lost a great part of it when you left. For you are the main back bone of the Duke kids. When I see you again maybe you will put me on your shoulders and carry me home one last time? Like when I was young. Missing you and your many words of comforting . But most of all, your warm smile and your wonderful big brother touch. gi
