Brandon Joseph Ciolino

1976 - 2022

Brandon Joseph "BJ" Ciolino passed away peacefully on January 17, 2022, surrounded by family and comforted with immense love. After a merciless 2 year battle with ALS, he was released from his body at the young age of 45. Born on November 14, 1976 in Metairie, LA he attended St. Ann Catholic School and was a graduate of East Mecklenberg High School in Charlotte, NC. After returning to New Orleans LA, he began his career in the service industry. He bartended at many New Orleans restaurants including Mr. B's, Emeril's and Tommy's Cuisine, among others. He was briefly employed at Armstrong McCall Beauty Supply. Brandon is preceded in death by his father, Gregory Joseph Ciolino; grandmother Patricia Eaton Ciolino; grandfather, Robert Thomas Patterson. He is survived by his mother, Iris Patterson Ciolino; his two sisters Lauren Ciolino and Katelyn Ciolino; grandfather, Dr. Vincent Paul Ciolino; grandmother Monna Ruth Hayden (Buddy); estranged wife and friend, Kristina Fuenzalida, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous close friends. He especially loved his Uncle Doug. Brandon had a heart of gold and a beautiful soul. His warm smile and playful banter will be missed by so many. He had a broad taste in music, books and movies/TV series. He was a Pelicans and Saints fan and loved the LSU Tigers with a fierce passion. BJ was a devoted and loyal friend who never met a stranger. His love for his family and friends was genuine and unconditional. Special thanks to his team of doctors and nurses who cared for him like their own and TeamGleason whose generosity will be forever noted. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 25th 2022 at Lake Lawn Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA. Visitation at 11:00am with a Mass at 1:00pm. Private interment to follow. All attendees are asked to wear a mask per local requirements concerning Covid-19. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to TeamGleason.org.
