Brian Klotz Obituary

Brian Calvin Klotz, 43, of Kenner, Louisiana passed away after a brief illness on Monday, July 17, 2023. Brian is survived by his loving parents, Calvin B. Klotz, Jr. and Paula Jane Northcott Klotz, his brother Jason B. Klotz (Courtney) and his sister Lydia Jane Klotz Parish (John). He is also survived by his adoring nieces and nephews Mary-Camila Klotz, Abel Bernard Klotz, Amelia Rose Klotz and Gladys Jane Parish. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lanny and Jane Northcott and Calvin and Margaret Klotz. Brian was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on November 18, 1979. He attended Archbishop Rummel High School in Metairie, Louisiana and graduated in 1997. He was a member of the Raider Band and was also a member of the Raider Swim Team. After graduation he attended LSU and graduated from U.N.O. with a degree in Business Administration. He went on to hold a position at Cummins Inc., Jefferson, LA for 15 years in Inside Sales/Product Management. Brian loved watching all sports and occasionally would throw a wager at the game. He particularly loved his LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. Brian loved football season and would watch the weekend games with a passion many have had the privilege to see. He also loved reading. He particularly loved reading history, sports, and war novels. As a 5-year-old little boy, Brian would be the first one to wake and read the old-World Book Encyclopedias from cover to cover. He would memorize the content and passionately pass on his newly acquired knowledge to all who would listen. Brian was gregarious with all people. He had a zest of life and loved to party and joke around with his friends. Brian never met a stranger and warmed up to everyone he met. He loved the company of family and friends and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Services, on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5190 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the D Day Museum in Brian's name or to your charity of choice. Condolences may be expressed at www.greenwoodfh.com.
