Bridget Clark Obituary

Bridget Michelle Clark was born February 20, 1967 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Dallas and Cecelia Clark. Bridget was third of four siblings, and was preceded in death by her only brother and eldest sibling, Kevin Clark, maternal grandparents, Alvin and Cecelia Mundy, and paternal grandparents, Larry and Mary Clark. Bridget was born catholic and baptized as an infant at St. David Catholic Church. Bridget loved her family and had a wonderful childhood alongside her late brother, Kevin, and sisters, Lisa and Jermaine. Bridget's love for education carried her through grade school where she graduated from Marion Abramson Senior High. Bridget went on to obtain higher education at Dillard University for a Bachelor's Degree in Education, and Southern University where she received her Master's Degree in Social Work. During her years at Dillard University Bridget met and married Kevin Joseph and later gave birth to her only daughter and "love-bone" Kasey Joseph in September of 1992. Bridget was also voted by peers and named "Ms. Education" at Dillard University. She would often preach the importance of the power of knowledge to her family and friends. One of her first jobs while attending college, through the Stay in School Program, was with the United States Dept. of Agriculture. She went on to excel in her career as a social worker for several local nonprofit organizations including Kingsley House and Travelers Aid Society; and eventually promoted to program director at Urban League of GNO, before relocating to Houston, TX. In September 2013, Bridget was blessed with what she considered her highest level of achievement and honor; affectionately referred to as "Gram-Gram", she welcomed the birth of her grand-daughter, Kayden. In 2019, Bridget returned to her hometown, to be closer to Kasey, Kayden, and immediate family. She valued her time as full-time "Gram-Gram" as she settled in, and went on to further her professional career by becoming a Certified Master Social Worker, in true "Ms. Education" fashion. Bridget stayed true to her passion to help others and push the importance of education with her final employer being Raintree Children and Family Services. On May 9, 2022, Bridget was suddenly called home without warning leaving her family devastated. Bridget is survived by her parents, Dallas and Cecelia; siblings, Lisa and Jermaine (Antoine); daughter and grand-daughter, Kasey and Kayden; nieces, Keisha, Kerin (Mareio), Whitney (Gary), and Jada; nephew, Antoine Dallas; grand-nephews, Gary, Dylan, Daniel, Wayne, and Jesiah; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church 6828 Chef Menteur Hwy. NOLA 70126. Visitation will begin at 9:00am. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Due to Covid-19, everyone attending is required to wear masks and adhere to social distancing.
