Carmela Brocato

Carmela Manzella Brocato passed away at her home in Kenner on Monday, July 10, 2023 at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Angelo A. Brocato. Mother of Thomas A. Arbon (Sandra), Toni T. Serpas (John), and Dino A. Tedesco. Daughter of the late Antonino "Pedu" Manzella and Luchina "Lulu" Macaluso Manzella. Sister of Anthony R. Manzella (Janet), and the late Placido "Pat" Manzella, Biagio "Basil" Manzella, and Bridget Indovina. Grandmother of Jeffrey V. Serpas (Monique), Michael J. Arbon, and the late Thomas Arbon, Jr. Great-grandfather of Lucas Serpas, Alexander Serpas, Thomas A. Arbon, Ill, and Cooper Arbon. Being with her family brought her the most joy. She was a wonderful cook and never cooked a meal that wasn't shared with both family and friends. She was an incredible mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. There was nothing she wouldn't do for them. She had many Bunco and Bingo friends whom she shared many hours of fun and laughter with. She will be missed by all. A special thank you to Toshiba Howard and Michelle Oliney of Home Instead who provided her with many days of companionship and entertainment. She taught them how to cook HER way. If it wasn't her way, it wasn't the right way. The staff and nurses of Compassus Hospice provided her with dignity and love in her final days.
