Carmen Bernice Baker-Robinson was born to Charles Shanks and Jonnie Bee Gyles on February 2, 1962, in New Orleans, La. Carmen departed her life on Saturday, October 22, 2022, in New Orleans, La. Carmen worked at the YMCA JSC School where she was loved by all coworkers, and she enjoyed working there. She was such a fun and loving person, full of joy. She loved to party with her family and friends. Carmen lived in uptown New Orleans where she raised her two kids with her lifelong companion Eddie Matthew. They were together over thirty years. Carmen is survived by her son, Michael Baker. Her daughter, Lakevia Baker. Grandkids, Michael Baker, Jr., Me'Khi Baker, Christian Baker, and Chris'tyian Cloudie. One Sister, Debra Baker; One brother, Brian Baker, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and family members. Carmen was preceded in death by her parents Charles Shanks and Jonnie Bee Gyles, and her late husband, Michael Robinson. Services will be held 11AM Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Majestic Mortuary Service 1833 Oretha Castle Haley BLVD. 70113. Visitation to begin at 10AM.
