Carol Lukinovich Obituary

Carol Jean Michel Lukinovich, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the age of 83. She was the beloved wife of Andrew L. "Luke" Lukinovich, Jr. She was the daughter of the late August and Sadie McCarthy Michel. Sister to Gail Michel Mineo (John). Stepmother to Andrew L. (Drew) Lukinovich, III (Mayra), David J. Lukinovich (Kim) and the late Judy Arena. Loving grandmother to nine grandchildren. Also survived by two nephews and one niece. Carol was a graduate of the Academy of the Holy Angels and was a member of the Glee Club. She also attended Loyola University. Carol belonged to the following clubs: H2U, The Grotto, The Italian American Club and Gogetters of Metairie. She also volunteered at Lakeside Hospital. Carol loved all holidays and decorating for every season. She especially loved Mardi Gras and riding in parades. Dearest friend to Donna and Robert Drummond and beloved Nanny to Katherine "Katie" and Rachel Drummond. Special thanks to her neighbor, Donna Dupree, with whom she spent countless hours reminiscing over coffee and wine. The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to her caregiver, Rosa Butler. A Memorial Communion Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum. The family invites you to share your thoughts, fond memories, and condolences online at www.lakelawnmetairie.com.
