Catherine Clark Obituary

Catherine Elizabeth Marshall Clark died peacefully at her home in Metairie on October 16, 2018. Catherine was born in New Orleans on February 8, 1944 to the late Charles Donald Marshall and the late Catherine Elizabeth Potts Marshall. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Francis Clark III. Catherine is survived by her siblings: Charles Donald Marshall, Jr. (Lesley), Gretchen Marshall Kantrow (Lee), Nanette Marshall Sanders (J.O.), Dr. Richard Henry Marshall (Brenda) and fifteen nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Carolyn Clark, John Francis Clark IV and Charlotte Clark Almand. A graduate of Isidore Newman School and Newcomb College, she spent her junior year at the University of Madrid and was fluent in three languages. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and a former member of the Orleans Club and Le Petit Salon. Catherine was adept at the NY Times crossword puzzles and Jeopardy and adored her pups, most recently her Wheaten Terrier, Cisco. Catherine was an avid bridge player, an ardent tennis player and fan, and an accomplished cook who loved to entertain family and friends. A co-owner of Needle Arts Studio, she was a talented and prolific needlepoint artist. Special appreciation to Alcira Villanueva and Juana Luisa Morales for their devotion and friendship. A private funeral was held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home. The interment was in Garden of Memories Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
