Charles Austin Obituary

Charles E. Austin, Sr., 78 years old and resident of Luling, LA of 36 years, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2006 in the Luling Living Center. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Velma Austin; daughter, Patti Usher; and son, Chuck Austin. Granddaughters: Kelly Guy, Lafayette, LA and Celeste Austin, Hammond, LA; and grandsons: Scott Usher, Cade Austin and Jarrod Austin, Luling, LA and 5 great-grandchildren. Siblings EJ Austin and Jean Stanley of WV, Jo Clark and Carolyn Mobley of Ohio, Rusty Austin of Maryland, Barbara Allen of Tennessee and Boots Lummus of Wyoming. Preceded in death by parents, Enis and Cleo Austin of WV; siblings: Betty Goins and Bobby Austin of WV; and granddaughter, Cherie Austin of Luling, LA. He was a retiree of Union Carbide, Taft, LA after 30 years of service. He served in the United States Navy as a Seabee. He was also a member in ""good standing'' for 40 years of the Washington Masonic Lodge of St. Albans, WV. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA. Additional visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2006 at Good Shepherd Mortuary, 335 Fifth Ave., South Charleston, WV. Burial will immediately follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park in Big Chimney, WV.
