Back in 1990, i studied the art of Raku pottery under the guidance of Charlie. He was a stern teacher to say the least, but those are the one we tend to learn the most from. Indeed, I learned a lot from him on the wheel and at the kiln during my time at Shadyside on Magazine. I still have some pieces He taught me how to create.....Many others, I gave away. Beyond the art of Raku, Charlie taught the importance of seeking perfection in one's work. Thanks again Charlie, you and your wonderful pottery will be remembered by many and for many years to come. May you rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to friends and family of Charles Bohn. I met him only a couple of times at his Shadyside Pottery. He was a magnificent potter and artist and I treasure my pottery he created.

So sad to see that Charlie Bohn passed away. I loved his work and have some pieces he did for me. I loved that he took that building near Oak Street and the railroad track and was turning it into something great. Yes, he was crabby and difficult but he was a wonderful artist! My deep condolences to his loved ones. He left us too soon! Joan Hooper Feibelman

One of the BEST potters I have ever known, and I have known hundreds and hundreds. Charlie was a unique and difficult person, but once you got over his stubborn and crabby exterior, there was a generous, kind and loyal friend! I will miss him forever, he changed my life by teaching me how to throw clay a and discipline my often chaotic mind. Charlie.....
