Charles Landry Obituary

Charles R. Landry Sr., a lifelong resident of New Orleans, passed away peacefully, at the age of 79, at his home on Tuesday October 17, 2023. Charles was employed by Baumer foods and Nola Motorsport. He was a graduate of Iberville High School Bulldogs 1962, Plaquemine, LA. He leaves to cherish his memories, 1 daughter–Joy Landry Gales (Michael); 7 sons– Vaughn Gaines (Renee), Rolden Landry (Fatou), Charles Landry Jr. (Kathleen), Quincy Landry, Joseph Garner III (Aleatha), Gerald Willis Jr. (Ayesha), and Bryan Willis (Juanita); 2 brothers–Joseph Landry and Leon Landry Jr.; 1 sister–Nora Lee Smith Rogers (William); 27 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife–Gayle M. Landry; 1 son–Master Charles Taji Landry; parents–Ora Lee Landry and Leon Landry Sr.; 2 sisters–Ira Domino and Helen Jackson; and 1 brother–Oris Johnson Sr. Family and friends are invited to the Celebration of Life service on Saturday October 28, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at St Matthews United Methodist Church, 1100 Verret Street, New Orleans, LA 70114. Rev. K. C. Roberson will officiate. The Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until the time of service. The Interment will follow at Restlawn Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, 3450 US - 90 W, Avondale, LA 70094. Professional arrangements are entrusted to Murray Henderson Funeral Home, 1209 Teche Street, New Orleans, LA 70114.
