To the family of Charles Matthews, Charlie and I worked together on the Montclair Police Dept for many years, he was always known to work at various spots around town but his favorite working place away from the job was the pathmark food store where you could always find him working after he finished his normal day at the police department. He will be missed my many close friends and relatives.

To the family that I knew though Charlie,

We corresponded via the internet and shared family histories. The Matthews and my Sickles were part of the same. We shared information from the Old Brick Church in Marlboro. During the two years that my mother suffered from brain Cancer, there wasn't a day that Charlie didn't email me, knowing I was her sole care giver and how much I missed my husband and children, who were two hours from me. He gave me moral support, knowing that I would soon loose my best friend. We spoke about getting our families together, but time passed too quickly. I especially looked forward to meeting Charlie in person, my friend and my cousin! He will have everlasting peace in heaven and fond memories will replace the sorrow that his loved ones are currently dealing with. God bless you Charlie.... we will meet some day!
