Cheryl Borne Obituary

Cheryl Ann Borne, resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Monday, February 20, 2023, at the age of 64. She is survived by her loving daughter Bemnet Teferi (Yabsira), who was a source of pride and joy in her life. Cheryl was a loving sister to Sandra Davis, Rachel Borne, Talbert Borne (Sharon), Laverne Gambrell, Bradley Borne (Renette), David Borne, Vanessa Rayford (Kevin), Jacqueline Washington (Brian), Berlyn Scott, Gregory Borne and Randall Borne. She was the niece of Alice Borne, Lois Pierre and Leon Pierre. Cheryl was Godmother to Joseph Davis, Jr. Cheryl will be sadly missed by her family, including a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Cheryl was a devoted friend of Glenda Davis, Joycelyn Clementin, Loretta Rivers, and the Hill family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Jumel Borne and Bernice Pierre Borne, her sisters Eleene Scott, and Loretta Borne, her brothers Paul Borne and Joseph Borne, Jr. and her sister-in-law Arzelia Borne. Cheryl was a dedicated servant of God as a member of Gentilly Baptist Church. Her life was a blessing to others through her faith and belief in the Lord. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 11:00 am at Gentilly Baptist Church, 5141 Franklin Avenue, New Orleans, LA. Visitation 10:00 am. until time of service. Dr. Kenneth Taylor, Officiating. Burial will be private. Final care and professional services entrusted to Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E. Airline Hwy., Gramercy, LA 70052.

Cheryl and I worked together in NICU at Tulane for several years. An Awesome caring nurse.
Then Cheryl encouraged me to apply for a Research Nurse position @ Tulane University. She was so involved in making sure she educate the community.She had so many awesome qualities as person, Nurse and a Mother.
She will be missed. I pray the family and friends can find Peace in her Legacy.
