Christopher Perkins Obituary

Christopher Roy Perkins departed this life on June 15, 2024. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Eileen Duckworth Perkins and devoted father to Madeleine and Chase. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends that he considered family. Chris was a talented musician and songwriter who entertained countless people over the years. Above all, he was a family man. He loved playing guitar with Chase and watching Maddie dance. He loved every minute spent with them. Chris was a true Patriot who proudly served his country. He had a kind soul; and he never met a stranger. His legacy will be his love of family, perseverance, and living life to the fullest. Services will be July 2, 2024, at St. Catherine of Siena Church. Visitation from 10:00-12:00 followed by a funeral mass at noon. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Chris's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

My heart is heavy with sadness. Such a kind and wonderful person has gone to heaven. He leaves behind those of us to have been lucky enough to have met him, a piece of his beautiful soul.

From the first time I met Sarge, I knew he was a genuine person. His love for his family and his country was never unnoticed. An amazing talented musician who will be missed by all. I still can not believe that he is no longer with us, I constantly pray for the family and that they gain the strength they will need to get through this. May you find comfort in the loving memories shared.

Chris was a great friend, a great bandmate, a veteran, but most importantly to him, a great husband and dad. Chris ALWAYS spoke about his family, and beyond anything in his life, his family was the single most important thing to him. His laugh was always sincere, his loyalty to his friends was constant and solid, and his love of his family was beyond compare.
To his wife and children, I hope you know how much he adored you all. I was blessed to have been able to call him a friend. To Chris, my brother, you were one of the few I can call a true friend, and you will be the subject of funny stories (DO NOT MENTION THE "BABYCAKES"!), we will always speak about your talent on stage, and when the day comes that I see you again, I'll have a cold "grape" ready for us to drink.
God bless, and rest in peace, my brother. You truly were "epic".

We won't get to form that acoustic "super group" that we talked about in this life...maybe we'll get to do it in the next. I know you are howling in Heaven with the blues guitar greats. Until we meet (and jam) again...

Chris ....always the gentleman. Very respectful. When our band was forming and we lacked certain equipment, Chris was quick to offer his own equipment...free of charge, and he insisted. Chris was a very hard-working musician. I will never forget his kindness to me. RIP Sarge.
