I remember Clarence from high school. We had a bad called Rare Image, and he really dug out music so he wanted to try out. All he had to do was ask. We were looking for a trombone player and he played the valve trombone. We had a lot of good times. It was a really nice dude. I spoke to him once as an adult, few years ago. We talked about hooking up but never got the chance. That's why I wish you seize opportunities as they come. Rest in power my brother.

I will miss my friend Clarence he taught me so much about life he always found a positive way to deal with a negative situation he always had a smile on his face when he would see you. I´m so sorry to learn of the passing of this great man! I knew Clarence from Xavier and because he saw something in me and reached out to me, when he was pledging Alpha Phi Omega, it made my college years the best they could have ever been. From the sounds of the obit, it appears he remained that same beautiful soul I remember and loved. Eternal rest to you old friend, and I pray for the strength and comfort of the Bertrand family and friends.

My condolences to the Bertrand family. My prayers will be lifted up for all his family and friends, but especially to Lance. I remember conversations with Clarence about our children and when Lance' name was mementioned a big smile was on his face. I am forever greatful for the memories of fun, caring and willingness to help others. We had some much fun at the Bayou Classics and other times at State Farm. Get you rest Clarence and thank you for all the good times on earth. I remember you having my family jamming at my dad's retirement party, as you were the DJ. Rest on my friend and thank you!

I cannot remember growing up in New Orleans without remembering Uncle Clarence. He was an integral part of my earlier life. We marched in the high school band together, we performed in our high school talent show, we pledged the same fraternity at Xavier, we partied together, and drank daiquiri´s together, etc. Uncle Clarence was a man of great integrity, hard working and just loved life. I will always remember your smile and the times we shared on this earth together. RIP Uncle and may god hold you in the palm of his hands.

Nicholls c/o 1977 he was always a very humble man with a big broad smile forever on his face. We all loved him but God loved him the best take your rest Clarence until we all meet again. I worked at State Farm with Clarence many years ago. He was one of the kindest people I knew. Always with a smile on his face. I know he will be greatly missed by many. God bless the loved ones he left behind. I am sure Clarence is doing just fine. Still smiling in heaven.
