I remember Clarence from high school. We had a bad called Rare Image, and he really dug out music so he wanted to try out. All he had to do was ask. We were looking for a trombone player and he played the valve trombone. We had a lot of good times. It was a really nice dude. I spoke to him once as an adult, few years ago. We talked about hooking up but never got the chance. That's why I wish you seize opportunities as they come. Rest in power my brother.

I´m so sorry to learn of the passing of this great man! I knew Clarence from Xavier and because he saw something in me and reached out to me, when he was pledging Alpha Phi Omega, it made my college years the best they could have ever been. From the sounds of the obit, it appears he remained that same beautiful soul I remember and loved. Eternal rest to you old friend, and I pray for the strength and comfort of the Bertrand family and friends.

I cannot remember growing up in New Orleans without remembering Uncle Clarence. He was an integral part of my earlier life. We marched in the high school band together, we performed in our high school talent show, we pledged the same fraternity at Xavier, we partied together, and drank daiquiri´s together, etc. Uncle Clarence was a man of great integrity, hard working and just loved life. I will always remember your smile and the times we shared on this earth together. RIP Uncle and may god hold you in the palm of his hands.
