It is with great sadness that the family of Constance "Connie" Flattmann Gioe announce her passing on February 3, 2023 at the age of 64 after battling cancer for 7 months. Connie was born in New Orleans and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. She leaves behind her high school sweetheart of 45 years, Harry Joseph Gioe. Together they were the beloved parents of Jeffrey Gioe (Rebecca) and Jene' Hebert (Ronnie Jr.). She was the adoring grandmother of Haylee Gioe, Riley Noto, Ronnie Hebert III, Beaux Hebert, Ryann Gioe and Cooper Hebert. She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert Flattmann and Ruby Flattmann. She leaves behind a brother Herbert Flattmann Jr. Connie, affectionately known by her grandchildren as Mimi and Honey, enjoyed spending her time with her family vacationing, gardening, visiting the casino with her husband, and spending time friends. She also enjoyed spending time and caring for her lab Sadie. Before Katrina, Connie worked as an office manager for Local 39 then went on to work as a legal assistant for the office of social security until her retirement in February of 2022. Family and friends are invited to honor Connie's memory during a Celebration of Life ceremony on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 11:30AM - 1:00PM at Our Lady Of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA. Dear Flattmann and Gioe Families,
I am so heartbroken to learn that Connie has passed. I was a neighbor (sister of Fran Besson) and lived across the street on East Claiborne Square. Many a Saturday I spent time waiting for Ms. Ruby to finish the chore of washing/drying/setting Connie´s hair for Sunday services, before she could have her playtime with me! Connie was a sweet gentle soul and had recently been in my thoughts and prayers! I am so sorry for her passing as well as your loss. She will forever be remembered as my childhood friend.

Dear Gioe Family:
I am so sorry to learn that your dear Connie has passed away. My family and I lived across the street from the Flattmanns on E. Claiborne Square way back in the 1960's. Mr. Herb and Ms. Ruby were wonderful neighbors and we kids--of which there were many!--on the block spent lots of after-school hours and summers playing all the typical street games of that era until the street lights came on. We had a blast! Connie was one of my favorite pals. I will lift her and your family in prayer as your grieve her loss.
