Daniel "Skinny Man" "June" Erwin Smith, Jr., age 65 entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 28, 2015. He was a native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Barataria, La. Former husband and devoted friend of Eunice Gaines Mason. Father of Danyell Smith McHardy. Grandfather of Victoria and Darnell McHardy and Diamond Paige. Son of the late Daniel Ervin Smith, Sr. and Josephine "Bea" Briscoe Smith. Brother of Sandra S. Sam, Ilka S. Douglas, Joann , Carylon, Kenneth, and Carl Smith. Nephew of Elle Mae (Briscoe) Scurles and Marie Dixion Smith. Godfather of Terrance White, also survived by 5 nieces, 7 nephews, and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Greater St. John Baptist Church and neighboring churches. Employees of Maison Deville, Wynhoven Seniors Apartments, Carrington Place and West Jefferson Medical Center are invited to attend the funeral service at Greater St. John Baptist Church, 2823 A Privateer Blvd., Barataria, La., on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Harold E. Clark, Sr. officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the above named church. Interment: Bailey Cemetery, Barataria, La.
