Darnell Williams Obituary

Darnell James Williams was born September 28, 2003. He was raised as an only child by his mother, Danielle Williams. She discovered that he had a goofy personality at an early age, which made him a lovable character and a valuable presence to his family. Most would say that being around him was truly a treasured and memorable moment. Darnell was loved and cared for throughout the community. He also had a strong social media presence, as he was known for making comical and entertaining videos with friends. Darnell attended Booker T. Washington High School, where he was a rising senior. After school, Darnell would make time to engage with friends and learn new hobbies at the YEP (Youth Empowerment Program) in his community. After graduation Darnell planned to open and operate his own clothing store, which was highly anticipated due to his notable and incredible fashion sense. Darnell James Williams departed this life on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at the age of 17. He was a victim of gun violence. He was the son of Danielle Williams and Daniel Temple. Brother of Heaven Brown and Faith Brown, God brother of Troy Johnson, Grandson of Betty Williams-Hollmon, Wanda Temple, John Henry Hollmon, Fredrick Washington, and Edward Spears. Great grandson of Lillie Stewart. He is survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He is also survived by two best friends, Bobby Rankins and Daniesha Jackson, and girlfriend, Aryell Birdlow. The Williams Family would like to thank D. W. Rhodes Funeral Home, Israelite Baptist Church, Guste Home Community, KIPP, Booker T. Washington High School and Rouses Marketplace. Relatives and friends of the family and the community are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at D. W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 9:00 am. Visitation at 8:00 am. Interment: Resthaven Cemetery. Words can not express the hurt you are feeling. Just know your son was a peaceful, loving, funny and caring person. I would always see him walking the Guste complex and he would always speak, smile and keep moving. Mom you had a good son always remember that . May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
