David, I will never forget the great times we shared in Little Farms I was glad I got to see you one last time, a year ago for after not seeing you since we were 13 yrs old! I will never forget your smile, laughter, and silly jokes!

I met my neighbor, Russ, after Hurricane Katrina. He taught jazz preservation at a time when it seemed our whole culture could be wiped out. His positive energy was so healing. And now this sadness.

I remember when Russ was introduced to us when he was born. I think he was about 4 years old when he took a liking to Rat's drum set. Who knew he would be earning his place in the Batiste music world. David, you were a great dad to Russ and all of your children. I pray that God grants you and the family fast healing during this time of bereavement. Elm Street love.

Seems it was just yesterday when David Sr. told me of the Father's Day Celebration at Audubon Park. Russ gave me the biggest hug! He even remembered me by calling me by name, after being gone 25 years! The Gladiators, The Batiste Bros., above all my brothers/neighbors from Little Farms, and Pat, just know the Felders are praying for and with you guys. Remember above all, The Almighty will see you through this, just trust and believe. Much love from my family to all of you!
