David Matherne Obituary

David Michael Matherne gained his wings doing what he loved, camping, with his loving and devoted wife, Dana of 36 years. He is survived by his 2 sons, Jarrett (Danielle) and Joel (Kimberly) and his grandchildren, Kaleb, Kobe, and Jolie. David was a lifelong resident of Bridge City, LA. He worked at ADM for 28 years. He loved to fish, camp and hang out with his many friends and family. He is preceded in death by his father, Nelson Peter Matherne and his mother, Virgie Lee Matherne. He is survived by his sister, Maggie (Duane), brother, Paul (Cathy), sister, Melinda (Curtis), Marianne and Martha; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends if the family, also employees of ADM Shipyard are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 6pm. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 5pm until 8pm. Family and friends may view and sign the online guest book at www.mothefunerals.com.

Can't believe my old buddy is gone. We were always together as kids, just had to jump the fence to hang out with each other. Seems like yesterday my dad and I were fishing and hunting with David and Mr. Red. Heaven is getting a good man! My thoughts and prayers are with the Matherne family.
