David Stoltz Obituary

STOLTZ David Ernest Stoltz, Sr., age 89, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010. Born and raised in New Orleans, LA, he moved to Metairie, LA after Hurricane Katrina. Beloved husband of the late Lois McRae Stoltz for 63 years. Father of Eileen Stoltz Sullivan (John) and David E. Stoltz, Jr. (Ellen Grass). Grandfather of Jennifer Sullivan Muller (John), Eric Stoltz (Lisa), Michael Sullivan, and Kevin Stoltz (Hallie). He is also survived by two great-grand-children: Cullen and Cody. He is survived by his brother, Herbert Stoltz, and sisters: Florence Stoltz Farmer and Lillian Stoltz Cantu. He was preceded in death by his parents: Albert and Lena Geissler Stoltz, brothers: Albert, Jr., William R. Stoltz and sister, Marcella Stoltz Kern. He was a WWII veteran and a life member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Gentilly Links Post American Legion. He was a member of the 535th Antiaircraft Artillery. He was a member of the World War II Museum of New Orleans. He retired from Zetz Bottling Company and was a long time member and Elder of Gentilly Presbyterian Church. Family and friends are invited to attend services at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street at 11:30 AM, Monday February 1, 2010. A Wake will be Sunday, January 31, 2010 with family receiving friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Jacob Schoen Funeral Home; visitation Monday will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cypress Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the World War II Museum in New Orleans, 945 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130.
