Dear David, Jennifer, and Cindy: I first met your father when he ran for Congress the first time. As a young registered Republican (when there were only a few of us) I worked as a precinct captain in that first camapign. We became long time friends, played golf together, and years later (when I was appointed to the FCC) having no place to live in DC until the family arrived, he invited me to live with him in Annenberg for 3 months. We became even closer friends. He was the most honest and ethical politician ever to grace Louisiana and I am proud to have known him as a friend. He will be greatly missed. We will pray for the family during the time of grief. I look forward to the day when we can all get together on the "other side of the river". Lord bless!!

My heartfelt condolences to the family of Governor David C. Treen. Dave and I were life long friends---going back to uptown neighborhood and high school fraternity days. I was engaged in most of Dave's political campaigns and served in Governor Treen's cabinet. Greatness comes when a good, honest, and ethical man runs for public office and carries those traits through the office once elected. That was David C. Treen. I am sorry, but due to a medical problem, I was unable to attend the services. With deepest sympathy on the passing of a great American.

Dave Treen, AKA Mr. Repubpican! It was through his candidacies and victories that the Republican Party came out of the closet and began to grow in LA. He gave us the courage and
incentive, and the motivation to even become become candidates and win. Yes, the building continues, the numbers grow, and we thank you Dave. You will be missed.

Dave Treen was a political treasure for the people and state of Louisiana. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word. I believe I am a better person for having known him. He taught me much about politics and about being a good person. There are few men on this earth from whom I have learned so much. He was a wonderful role model.

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your father, as well as belated condolences on losing your mother. I have fond memories of car-pooling to school with you all those many years ago and felt the state was in good hands when your dad was Governor.

I was saddened to hear about the death of our former Governor Dave Treen, in whose adminisration I had the privilege of serving as Secretary of Commerce. His positive impact and contribution to Louisiana was greater than he was given credit for. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

More than fifty years ago, we sat together as classmates at the Tulane Law School. I always knew David to be a gentleman, upright, believable and polite.
I admired his success and his unsullied reputation in the difficult world of politics.
As a classmate of his, I join his family in cherishing the memory of a good man and I will, today, make a contribution in furtherance of study and implementation of ethical political conduct.
